Chapina Charity

I almost forgot! Mel and I will be heading to Guatemala over Christmas break and will be taking school supplies and tuition money to needy kids who may not be able to go to school otherwise. If anyone wishes to contribute to this effort, it would be greatly appreciated. This is a picture of some of the kids that were the recipients last time we visited taken in front of their home.

All levels of school in Guate charge tuition. Generally, it runs about 30 dollars a year and this is often far out of range for many families with lots of little mouths to feed. Much of the time, parents are forced to choose between buying food or paying for school. Their school year starts in the middle of January so all donations received before then can be applied this school year. There's no better Christmas gift than a donation in someone's name to help these kids get an education to move from poverty to productivity!!
