A lot has happened since last time I posted, so I'll spare you the details. Needless to say, I have been prosecuting the citizens Seminole county since May of this year. Melanie and the fam moved up in July after Mel finished out the school year. Since we have been up here, we have enjoyed living near the beach and have visited both Daytona and New Smyrna beaches. Both beaches have a GREAT SURF! However, this was likely our last weekend at the beach for a while as Mel suspects that baby Emma will grace us with her presence by the end of this week or the beginning of next. (I suggested having an "ocean birth" but Mel would hear nothing of it. So, we are going to have to do it the old-fashioned way in a Hospital, AGAIN! (Mel tends to enjoy taking all my fun out behind the wood shed and killing it.) In fact this time she's demanding I have a doctor present for the entire delivery! I sure am glad we have insurance, otherwise Mel just might have been disappointed. Besides, I thought I did a great job delivering Sophia!)
We will miss the beach. We have gone almost every weekend for the past two or three months. I boogie board and teach Tyler to run in the surf, while Sophia covers herself and Mami with wet sand.
Below are some photos of our weekend excursions.
Tyler and Sophie both LOVE throwing sand - especially on Mami and Papi. The end result is a sandy car ride home. But nobody seems to mind.
Tyler likes to play with his trucks in the sand too. He fills it up and pushes it around, and often ends up dumping it on Sophia's head. The best part about these beaches are that we can drive right onto the sand, park, open the trunk and pop open the umbrella. No carrying of heavy-laden beach chairs or coolers. We just leave it all in the car; it makes hitting the beach a snap.
Sophia and her snagletooth smile. Still the prettiest baby girl around....at least for a few more days.
"OK! OK! OK! Tyler, that's enough. She can't breathe!" Sometimes, I can't tell if he just gets carried away trying to hug her or if he's secretly attempting put her to sleep with some sort of reverse shoulder choke hold.
"Now, if I hit him with the shovel it would be way too obvious and lead them straight back to me. BUT, if I hit him with the rake, they'll NEVER suspect it and I'll finally be FREE! It's the perfect CRIME!! EVEN BETTER: I just discovered that I'm an evil genius!!! AH HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" This is the kind of kid you get when Papi brings too many of his cases home from work.
